Johannes E. Bradt

Johannes E. Bradt was born in January 1745. He was the son of Albany woodworker Egbert Bradt and his wife, Elizabeth Lansing Bradt. He was the youngest child in a large first ward family.

In July 1767, he married Gerritje Lansing at the Albany Dutch church. Their son was born the following March.

In 1766, he signed the constitution of the Albany Sons of Liberty. Johannes E. Bradt was appointed firemaster for the first ward in November 1767.

However, in April 1767, John E. Bradt was dead and his father was paid money due John with the stipulation that he return it if his son had been paid. His widow, re-married in 1779.
