Egbertie Bradt Vanderheyden

Egbertie Bradt was born in May 1692. She was the daughter of Dirck and Anna Egberts/Teunis Bradt. She grew up in the North End home of a substantial Albany mainstay with a number of siblings.

In April 1716, she married the slightly younger Albany native Dirck Vanderheyden at the Albany Dutch church. Their only child was christened there in July. Unlike her husband, however, Egbertie appeared in church as a baptism sponsor on a number of occasions as late as 1746.

Envoking the process of elimination, we suspect that she was the "Widow E. Vanderheiden" listed among the Albany householders identified by the British army in 1756.

At this point, the community-based record has not yielded additional material on her marriage, residency, or standard of living.

Egbertie Bradt Vanderheyden was buried from the Albany church in August 1760.
