Sara Wyngaert Visscher

by

Sara Wyngaert was born in February 1708. She was a younger daughter of Albany mainstays Gerrit and Sara Visscher Wyngaert. Both parents probably were dead long before Sara reached adulthood.

In August 1731, she married the older Albany native Harman Visscher at the Albany Dutch church. By 1752, eight children had been christened at the Albany church where she was a pewholder and occasional baptism sponsor.

These Visschers lived in the third ward - probably in a house they shared with their adult sons.

Sara Wyngaert Visscher is said to have died after 1764. Her husband had died by that time as well but at least two sons and a daughter survived to become Albany residents.
