Elizabeth Wilkinson Radley

by

Elizabeth Wilkinson was christened at the Dutch church in Albany on January 1, 1738. She was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Codman Wilkinson. She was one of several children raised by two Albany newcomers who would become Albany residents themselves.

In December 1759, she was identified as a spinster of the city of Albany when she married a somewhat older John L. Radley at St. Peter's Anglican church. By 1767, five children had been christened in Albany churches. She probably was the "Mrs. Wilkinson" listed on a roster of members of St. Peter's in 1771.

For more than four decades, these Radleys/Radcliffs lived on the Southside of Albany in a modest home at what became 48 Hudson Street. Elizabeth was accounted for on the first ward censuses of 1790 and 1800.

John L. Radley died in 1809. We seek information on the passing of Elizabeth Wilkinson Radley who would have been in her seventies at that time.
