Gerritje Van Woert Hallenbeck

by

Gerritje Van Woert was born in April 1712. She was the daughter of Nicholas and Dirckie Barheit Van Woert. She was a middle child and grew up in a modest home in Albany's first ward.

In December 1741, she married Albany native Isaac Hallenbeck at the Albany Dutch church. By 1749, four children had been christened in Albany.

Except for occasional appearances as baptism sponsors, these Hallenbecks made scant impression on the community record.

In November 1764, Isaac was mentioned in the will filed by his father. However, the testator implied that Isaac was not in Albany at that time. No further mention of Gerritje Van Woert Hallenbeck has been thus far encountered.
