Anna Van Woert Lansing

by

Anna Van Woert was born in November 1727. She was the daughter of Jacob and Hendrickie Oothout Van Woert. This eldest daughter grew up in a very large countryside family. Her older brother, younger sister, and possibly other siblings became Albany residents.

By late 1746, she had married Albany native Isaac Lansing. Between December 1746 and 1763, seven children had been christened at the Albany Dutch church where the parents were occasional baptism sponsors.

At this point, the path forward becomes less clear as a number of Isaac Lansings are at risk during the second half of the eighteenth century.

Their daughter married Watervliet Patriot Abraham D. Fonda.

We move on for now seeking answers to basic questions regarding the life of Anna Van Woert Lansing.

notes

the people of colonial Albany Sources: The life of Anna Van Woert Lansing is CAP biography number 2408. This sketch is derived chiefly from family and community-based resources.

The specific marriage date seems to have eluded family chroniclers. Their children were christened at the Albany church and they received other services there as well.
