by Stefan Bielinski Engeltie Van Schaick was born in May 1728. She was the first child born to the marriage of Nicholas and Dorothea Witbeck Van Schaick. These Van Schaicks lived in Albany. After three more children, her mother died in 1740. "Claes Van Schaick" passed on in September 1750. In June 1751, she married Albany native Hendrick Bogert. By 1755, the marriage had produced two daughters. She may have died in January 1764 when church records noted that the wife of Hendrick Bogert was buried. Her husband may have survived for two more decades. notes
