Rachel Vandenbergh Witbeck

by

Rachel Vandenbergh was born in May 1749. She was the daughter of Cornelis M. and his second wife, Cornelia Vandenbergh. She was the oldest of several children resulting from her father's second marriage.

In January 1768, Rachel married Pieter W. Witbeck at the Albany Dutch church. By 1784, five children had been christened in Albany.

This Witbeck family seems to have lived in relative comfort on a farm outside of Albany.

Rachel Vandenbergh Witbeck was dead by December 1787 when her husband re-married. She would have lived no more than thirty-eight years.
