Johannes Vandenbogert

by

Referred to and referenced variously, Johannes Vandenbogert was christened at the Albany Dutch church in January 1685. He was an older son of Myndert H. and Helena Schermerhorn Vandenbogert.

At the time of his birth, his parents were raising a family in Albany where Myndert was known as a gunstock maker, trader, and the owner of real estate in what became Dutchess County.

By the late 1690s, his parents had moved to their property in the vicinity of Poughkeepsie. By the 1720s, the name of Johannes Vandenbogert was appearing regularly in the Poughkeepsie-related record.

Past diminishing returns on Albany native Johannes Vandenbogert, we move on for now.
