Anna Visscher Egberts

by

Anna Visscher was born during the early 1680s. She was the daughter of Albany mainstays Dirck Harmanse and Jemmetje Jans Visscher. In 1712, she was named as an heir in the will of her father.

By that time, she had married Benjamin Egbertse. By 1720, four children had been christened at the Albany Dutch church.

This Egberts family settled on Pearl Street where Benjamin was a merchant and city mainliner for more than fifty years.

After a marriage that lasted more than forty years, Anna Visscher Egberts died in October 1753 and was buried from the church. Her husband lived a decade or two longer.
