John De Peyster Ten Eyck (II)

John De Peyster Ten Eyck was born in May 1788. He was the son of John D.P. and Maria Douw Ten Eyck. He grew up in the State Street home of an Albany leader. His father and namesake died in 1798 and the son lived with his widowed mother for the rest of his life.

City directories from 1813 on listed him as a merchant and the householder of record at 82 State Street.

Apparently never married, John De Peyster Ten Eyck died in March 1816. He had lived less than twenty-eight years.
