Rachel Steele Webster

According to family-based sources, Rachel Steele was born in 1763. She was the daughter of Ashabel and Rachel Skinner Steele. She grew up as a middle child in the Hartford, Connecticut household of a merchant and municipal officer who died there in 1790. However, by that time, Rachel was married and living in Albany.

In February 1787, she had wed Charles R. Webster.

Rachel Steele Webster died of consumption in March 1794. She had lived but thirty years. However, Webster married her younger sister Cynthia and lived with him til Webster's death in 1834.
