John Sturgeon

by

Spelled variously, John Sturgeon lived in Albany at least following the end of the last French and Indian War. We seek information on his origins and path to Albany.

In 1766, his property in the first ward was assessed modestly.

In September 1771, he was among those witnessing the will of his neighbor William Mc Cew. At that time, he was identified as a merchant.

After that, the name of John Sturgeon has not been found in the community based record. A same-named contemporary lived out his life in Kentuckey.

With so many basic yet unanswered questions regarding his life, we move on for now!
