Machtelt Ryckman Roseboom

Machtelt Ryckman was born in August 1719. She was the daughter of Tobias and Helena Beekman Ryckman. She grew up at the family brewery located along the Albany waterfront.

In May 1740, she married Johannes Jac. Roseboom at the Albany Dutch church. Their only child was christened seven months later in the church where she was a long-time pewholder.

These Rosebooms lived in one of Tobias Ryckman's Albany homes. more to come In April 1765, Machtelt was living in her father's house and was to inherit that property as specified in his will. She probably was a widow at that time!

Later, she may have lived out her life in her son's third ward home. Widow Machtelt Ryckman Roseboom died in April 1791 and was buried in the Dutch church cemetery.
