Catharina Roseboom Fielding

by

Catharina Roseboom was born in June 1706. She was the daughter of Hendrick Roseboom, Jr. and his wife, Debora Staats Roseboom. She grew up in a merchant's home on Pearl Street.

In April 1729, she married newcomer George Fielding at the Albany Dutch church where she was a pewholder. Over the next three decades, however, her children were christened in New York City.

By mid-century, her family had settled in Albany where George Fielding was known as a silversmith.

In 1788, the second ward home of the "Widow of George Fielding" was listed on the Albany assessment roll. By that time, Catharina Roseboom Fielding had lived for more than eighty years.
