by
Stefan Bielinski

Jannetje Quackenbush was born during the last years of New Netherland. She was the daughter of Albany and Rensselaerswyck settlers Pieter and Maria Quackenbush.

She married Albany native Jacob Cornelise Bogert. By 1698, the marriage had produced nine children who were baptized in the Albany Dutch church.

These Bogerts were Albany mainstays who raised their large family in a home along Market Street near the house and brewery of Albert Ryckman.

Jacob Bogert died in 1725. Jannetje Quackenbush Bogert lived until January 1734.
