Maria Ostrander Bloomendal

by

Maria Ostrander probably was born during the 1730s. She was the daughter of a regionally prominent New Netherland-era family but does not appear to have been baptized in an Albany church.

In May 1756, she married twenty-year-old Albertus Bloomendal at the Albany Dutch church. Her daughter, named for her recently deceased mother-in-law, was christened that October.

However, Maria Ostrander Bloomendal, the "wife of Albartus Maase," was buried on October 7. The baby died shortly thereafter. Bloomendal re-married and fathered another family.
