Lucy Oake

by

Lucy Oake was the wife of Albany surveyor Abraham Oake.

She probably was born about 1759. We seek defining information on her origins and life.

We believe that her marriage to Oake about 1779 produced children.

Abraham Oake died in New York City in 1833. Lucy, the "widow of Abraham Oakey," died in October 1854 at the age of ninety-five.

notes

the people of colonial Albany Sources: The life of Lucy Oake has not yet been assigned a CAP biography number. This admittedly premature baseline sketch is derived chiefly from family and community-based resources. At this point, it simply supports the sketch of her husband. Perhaps she died in Albany?
