Anna Marselis Fonda

by

Anna Marselis was born in June 1689. She was the daughter of Gysbert and Barbara Groesbeck Marselis. She grew up as part of a large family in a shoemaker's second ward home.

In November 1716, Anna married a somewhat older Claes Fonda at the Albany Dutch church. By 1732, six children had been christened in Albany.

These Fondas lived in the second ward where Claes was a cooper and Albany mainstay for over fifty years.

Anna Marselis Fonda died in September 1751. Her husband survived until 1763.
