Maria Loockermans Fonda

Maria Loockermans was born during the early 1670s. She was the daughter of Pieter Sr. and Maria Donchesen Loockermans. She grew up in Beverwyck and Albany where her father was a trader who also ran a tavern.

In December 1694, she married Johannes Fonda at the Albany Dutch church. By 1714, their nine children had been christened at the Albany church where she was a member and regular baptism sponsor.

These Fondas first lived in Albany and then settled in Rensselaerswyck.

Maria Loockermans Fonda was buried by her church in November 1727. Her husband survived until 1740.
