Machtelt Lansing Visscher
by
Stefan Bielinski

Machtelt Lansing was born in December 1703. She was the daughter of Albany residents Isaac and Jannetje Beekman Lansing.

In January 1727, she married Teunis Visscher at the Albany Dutch church. By 1746, eight children had been christened at the church where she was a member, pewholder, and regular baptism sponsor.

These Visschers were brewers and raised their family in Teunis's house in the third ward.

Machtelt Lansing Visscher died after 1757. Her husband may have lived into the 1790s.
