Elsie Lansing Van Deusen

by

Elsie Lansing was born in September 1751. She is thought to have been the daughter of Abraham Ja. and Elizabeth Cooper Lansing. We seek more definite information on her earlier years.

In May 1771, she married Jacob Van Deusen at the Albany Dutch church. Between 1772 and 1791, the marriage had produced eight children whose names reflected those of both sets of grandparents.

These Van Deusens lived modestly in the second and third wards. Elsie Lansing Van Deusen was accounted for in the census return for her household in 1790.

However, she has not been placed on the census in 1800. By that time, Jacob and Elsie Van Deusen probably had left Albany.
