Burger Hewson

Burger Hewson was born in 1769 and christened at St. Peter's Anglican church on January 22. He was the son of Daniel and Mary Barret Hewson/Huson. He grew up in a leatherworker's home in the first ward.

He came of age during the 1790s and settled in as an Albany resident. His wife's name was Mary and their marriage produced several children.

In 1796, his name appeared on a roster of Albany firemen. In 1800, his first ward household included five family members.

Burger Hewson was dead by 1813 when his widow was listed in the city directory at 42 Liberty Street. In 1818, he was noted as deceased at the probate of the will of an uncle.
