Anna Hilton Wilkinson

Anna Hilton was born in August 1779. She was the daughter of Thomas and Nancy Cadogen Hilton. She grew up in the modest home of a Southside carpenter who died in 1802.

In September 1791, she was confirmed at St.Peter's Episcopal church where her parents were members.

In October 1802, she married Albany native Thomas Wilkinson at the Albany Dutch church. Their marriage produced a number of children.

This Wilkinson family made their home near the waterfront and then at 195 South Pearl Street where Thomas operated a grocery for many years.

Anna Hilton Wilkinson lost her husband in 1829. In 1830, the city directory showed that widow Ann was still living on Schuyler Street in the South End.
