Geertruy Groesbeck Arnold

by

Geertruy Groesbeck Arnold may have been born in August 1757. Thus, she could have been the daughter of Hannes and Elizabeth Van Brakel Groesbeck of Schaghticoke. However, we seek more verifiable information on her precise origins.

In March 1777, she is said to have married newcomer Eli Arnold. By 1793, seven children had been christened in Albany - mostly at the Dutch church although their marriage record does not seem to appear in its extant records.

Geertruy and Revolutionary army officer Arnold raised their family in Albany's third then first wards but seemed to drop from city rolls after the 1790s. Perhaps, they then left Albany.

Missing later life and death information for Geertruy Groesbeck Arnold, we move on for now.
