Elizabeth Evertsen Van Hoesen

by

Elizabeth Everts was born in February 1751. She was the daughter of North End residents Johannes and Susanna La Grange Evertsen. She grew up as the eldest daughter in a large family in the house of a middling cooper who survived until the 1790s.

In October 1773, she married Hendrick Van Hoesen at the Albany Dutch church. By 1785, four children had been christened in Albany.

In March 1791, she was named along with four brothers and her sister in the will of her father as it passed probate. However, we have not yet been able to place these Van Hoesens on a community landscape after the mid-1780s.

Elizabeth Evertsen Van Hoesen died sometime after the birth of her last child. We seek information on her later life and passing.
