Anna De Garmo Bogardusby
Anna De Garmo was born in October 1684. She was the daughter of Pierre and Caatje Vanderheyden De Garmo. Her father was a French woodsman who married the daughter of a prominent early Albany family. During the early 1700s, she married Shibboleth Bogardus. By 1726, nine of her children had been christened at the Dutch churches of New York and Albany - where she was a lifelong member and pewholder. This Bogardus family lived among the rank-and-file residents of Albany's second ward. Anna De Garmo Bogardus died in May 1747. By that time, all of her surviving children had become adults. Her husband died a few months after her. notes
