Rachel Cole Cassidy

by

According to family based resources, Rachel Cole was born in July 1752, She appears to have been the last of four children born to the marriage of Albany residents Lambert and Maria Kidney Cole. She grew up in a small and modest trades family in Albany's first ward.

Her father probably had passed by the time she married newcomer Luke Cassidy who probably knew Rachel's brother when they both served in an Albany militia company in 1767. Rachel's son, named for her mother's father, was christened at the Albany Dutch church in early 1778.

These Cassidys also lived in the first ward where Luke served as a constable as early as 1771. Her husband was last noted in the community-based record in May 1775.

We move on for now still seeking later life and passing information on Albany native Rachel Cole Cassidy.
