John Clark

by

John Clark was born in August 1758. He was the son of Patrick and Cornelia Waldron Clark. He was a middle child in the large family of a first ward contractor and transporter. Assignment of qualitative information is complicated by the existence of a number of same-named contemporaries. This sketch organizes information about the son of Patrick Clark who died in 1796..

In January 1796, the Albany newspaper noted that John Clark and Reuben King had received a contract to carry the mail and to maintain a twice weekly stage coach line between Boston and James Mc Gourck's in Albany.

In 1799, the house and lot of John Clark was valued modestly on the assessment roll for the second ward.

Census and directory information exists for two distinct John Clarks in Albany beginning in 1810. Death informatiion is similarly available.

A number of John Clarks are at risk during this subject's lifetime. As we are unable to definitively assign information to life of the son of Patrick and Cornelia, we move on for now.
