Phoebe Brooks Kidney

by

Phoebe Brooks probably was born during the 1730s. She may have been the daughter of Albany residents Jonathan and Rebecca Brooks. We seek more definite information on her background.

By 1753, she had married Albany native Johannes Kidney. Over the next two decades, several children had been christened in Albany churches. They were named for the parents of the marriage partners. Her son, Jonathan, became a prominent Albany resident.

These Kidneys lived in Albany where her husband probably was a sailor and property holder. Several "John Kidneys" were operating in the Albany area during their marriage.

We seek defining information of the later life and passing of Phoebe Brooks Kidney.
