Maria Bradt Pemberton

by
Stefan Bielinski

Maria Bradt was born in 1697. She was the daughter of Andries and Cornelia Van Wie Bradt - grandchildren of the earliest settlers of Albany.

She married Albany retainer Jeremiah Pemberton at the Loonenburgh Lutheran church in 1723. Their last five children were baptized in the Albany Dutch church between 1730 and 1735.

These Pembertons lived modestly in Albany's Second Ward. Jeremiah lived into the 1750s. The last reference of record for Maria was at the baptism of her son, William Pemberton, in 1735!.
