by Stefan Bielinski Eva Beekman Schuyler was born in February 1734. She was a younger daughter of Martin and Geertruy Visscher Beekman. In December 1763, she married skipper and businessman Abraham Schuyler in the Albany Dutch church where they were members. By 1775, six of their children had been baptized there. These Schuylers lived in a landmark home on the east side of Market Street attended by as many as nine slaves. In 1784, she inherited her parents' Albany house. For a time, they also kept boarders.
