by
Stefan Bielinski

Engeltie Bradt was the fifth child born to the marriage of New Netherland pioneers Albert Andriesse and Anna Barents Bradt. She was the first child born in New Netherland following her parents' arrival in 1637. She grew up on her father's farm located on the Normanskill - south of Beverwyck.

She married her Bethlehem neighbor Teunis Slingerland. The marriage produced at least four children - all born before 1683.

Engeltie Bradt Slingerland probably died in 1683 as her husband re-married in April 1684.
