Elizabeth Bancker Lansing

by

Elizabeth Bancker was born in July 1693. She was a daughter in the large family of Evert and Elizabeth Abeel Bancker. Her father was a prominent business and civic leader who had homes in Albany and New York, and substantial properties elsewhere as well.

In October 1715, she married Gerrit Lansing, Jr. at the Albany Dutch church. By 1726, five children had been christened there.

We seek information on the particulars of her married life. Traditional sources tell us that they lived in the second ward.

In 1734, she was accorded an equal share in her father's estate.

Gerrit Lansing died about 1736.

We seek further information on the later life and passing of Elizabeth Bancker Lansing.
