Ariaantie Bovie Crannelby
Ariaantie Bovie probably was born during the late 1720s. From the names of her children, she probably was the daughter of Albany-area residents Matthew and Maria Bovie. In November 1748, she married Albany native Robert Crannel at the Albany Dutch church. By 1760, seven children had been christened in Albany churches. She was an occasional baptism sponsor at the Dutch church in Albany. These Crannels raised their family in Albany's third ward. However, by the 1770s, they had dropped off of the community-based record. In June 1802, Dutch church records showed that a hearse was used for "Robert Crannel's wife."
