notes

"List of the Troops in the City and County of Albany under the Command of Capt. John Schuyler (1715)." Printed in Annual Reports, Vol. 1, pp.461-62. Our military history friends tell us that "troop" means troop of horse or cavalry! It was organized under the umbrella of the Albany City and County militia.
