notes

This Selective Survey appears to have been a part of the Albany court's extra ordinary proceedings (and thus absent from its surviving regular minutes). Printed in a number of sources and copied from an online transcription. Many editorial accommodations have been made. The 93 names listed within what became the city of Albany are fewer (and thus less comprehensive) than the number of householders named on the census of 1679.
