Anna Yates Lansing

by

Anna Yates was born in October 1718. She was the daughter of Albany residents Christoffel and Catharina Winne Yates. She grew up a part of a large family in a blacksmith's home in Albany's second ward. Her younger brother was future mayor, Abraham Yates, Jr..

In December 1744, she married Albany native Gerrit G. Lansing at the Schenectady Dutch church. Within a few years, the marriage produced two children.

These Lansings settled in Albany and lived in the third ward where Gerrit was engaged in the wood trades.

However, Anna Yates Lansing was dead by 1750 when her husband had re-married and was raising a second family.
