Susanna Wendell Schuyler

by

Susanna Wendell was born in February 1682. She was the daughter of Albany residents Evert and Elizabeth Sanders Wendell. She was named as a nine-year-old in the will filed by her father in November 1690.

In June 1704, she married Jacobus Schuyler - a recent widower who died unexpectedly in March 1707. That marriage produced only two children.

These Schuylers had lived on Market Street in Albany's third ward. Susanna Schuyler's name was entered on the assessment roll for the third ward in 1709.

One source fixed her death as January 20, 1709. She may have lived much longer! Perhaps, Susanna Wendell Schuyler lived until January 1747 when "Sannake Schuyler" was buried by the Albany Dutch church churchyard.
