Maria Wyngaert was born in July 1729. She was the daughter of Albany residents Johannes and Maria Huysen Wyngaert.

She married Pine Bush innkeeper Isaac J. Truax in June 1750 at the Albany Dutch church. Over the next two decades, she gave birth to at least thirteen children who were baptized in Albany and Schenectady.

This Truax family kept an inn and tavern located on the road that ran from Albany to Schenectady.

Maria Wyngaert Truax died in April 1802 and eventually was buried in the Truax family cemetery. Her husband died in 1808.
