Elizabeth Wendell Ten Broeck

by

Elizabeth Wendell was born before 1683. She was the daughter of Albany leaders Johannes Wendell and Elsie Staats Wendell. Her father died while she was still a child and her mother re-married in 1697. She grew up in a large combined family in a landmark house on Albany's main street.

In 1691, she was named among the many heirs to her father's substantial estate.

In June 1709, she married Johannes Ten Broeck at the Albany Dutch church where she was listed on the church membership roll.

The marriage appears to have been childless and was short-lived as Johannes Ten Broeck re-married in December 1714. Elizabeth Wendell Ten Broeck probably lived less than forty years!
