Catharina (Lyntie) Winne was born in January 1705. She was the daughter of Albany businessman Frans Winne and his wife Elsie Gansevoort Winne.

At age twenty-five, she married Abraham Douw in 1730. He was a Hudson River sailor and the client then associate of her brother, Captain Pieter Winne. The couple had four children born between 1731 and 1740.

Lyntie Douw died in November 1749 and was buried from the Albany Dutch church. She was two months shy of her forty-fifth birthday. Although her husband later re-married, her four children had been well provided for in the will of Pieter Winne.
