Eva Van Valkenburgh Vernor
by
Stefan Bielinski

Eva Van Valkenburgh was born in 1748. She was the daughter of Albany carpenter Jacobus and Margarita Radcliff Van Valkenburgh.

She married Albany innkeepers' son John Vernor in 1768. These Vernors lived north of the Mohawk in the Saratoga district of Albany County. Over the next long decade, she gave birth to at least six children. Perhaps she died before her daughter, Margaret, was adopted by the family of her sister, Margaret Tayler.

Eva was identified as deceased when her mother wrote her will in March 1778. John Vernor died in 1825.
