Cornelis Van Schaick

by

Cornelis Van Schaick was born about 1663. He was the son of New Netherland pioneer Goosen Gerritse and his second wife, Anna Lievens Van Schaick.

At least two additional, same-named individuals were alive in New York during his lifetime.

He was named in the will filed by his parents in August 1668. At that time he was said to have been five years old.

This Cornelis Van Schaick was not mentioned in the subsequent will filed by his mother in 1702. However, the Albany church burial records noted that a "Cornelys Van Schaick" paid for a pall in August 1703.

We seek defining information on the life and passing of this elusive son of early Albany.
