Gerrit Van Iveren

Gerrit Van Iveren was born in October 1733. He was the youngest son of Albany residents Myndert and Ariaantie Wyngaert Van Iveren. He grew up in a blacksmith's house in the second ward. In 1756, he was appointed constable for his home ward.

In July 1764, he married Albany native Catharina Bogert at the Albany Dutch church. By 1772, five children had been christened in Albany.

In 1766, his second ward home received a moderate assessment. Otherwise, he made only a slight impression on the community record. In November 1776, he was under consideration but was not appointed firemaster by the Albany committee.

Gerrit Van Iveren died in November 1787 and was buried from his church. He had lived fifty-four years.
