by

Margarita Van Deusen was born about 1746. We seek information on her background.

About 1775, she had married prominent Albany merchant and leader John N. Bleecker. By 1789, the marriage had produced eight children who were christened at the Albany Dutch church where she was a member and pewholder.

These Bleeckers lived on Pearl Street near other members of his family. They were Albany mainstays for two decades.

Margarita Van Deusen Bleecker died in April 1794. She was buried in the church plot. Her stone stated she had lived forty-eight years, eight months, and twenty-three days. Her husband lived until 1825.
