Maria Van Deusen Van Alstyne

by

Maria Van Deusen probably was born during the 1670s. She was the daughter of Matheus Abrahamse and Helena Robberts Van Deusen. Her parents began their life together in Beverwyck/Albany but relocated across the Hudson to Claverack where Maria probably was born.

In January 1694, she married widower Abraham Janse Van Alstyne at the Albany Dutch church. Their marriage entry notes that both partners were then living near Albany. By the mid-1720s, the marriage had produced maybe a dozen children some of whom were christened in Albany where these parents were members.

These Van Alstynes raised their large combined family in Kinderhook.

We move on for now seeking more definitive information on the family life and passing of Maria Van Deusen Van Alstyne.
