Anna Vanderzee Becker
by
Stefan Bielinski

Anna Vanderzee was born during the 1660s. She was the daughter of New Netherland pioneers and Albany residents Storm and Hilletie Lansing Vanderzee .

Losing her father in 1679, she grew up in the Albany home of her stepfather, William Ketelhuyn.

In December 1684, this tavernkeeper's daughter married Johannes Becker, Jr. at the Albany Dutch church. By 1708, the marriage had produced ten children.

These Beckers lived in Albany in one of Becker's father's houses. However, Anna's family dropped from Albany rolls after the last baptism!
