Hendrickie Van Buren Pruyn

by

Hendrickie Van Buren was the wife of Albany resident Jacob Pruyn, Jr. She probably was born in Kinderhook during the early 1750s. Perhaps she was the daughter of Barent and Catharina Van Buren. We seek defining information on her background.

In 1774, she married Jacob Pruyn, Jr. (Jacob F. Pruyn). By 1790, six children had been christened at the Albany Dutch church where she was a member and pewholder.

This Pruyn family lived on Columbia Street in either the second or third ward. Jacob Pruyn Jr.'s Albany holdings were of modest value.

Jacob Pruyn, Jr. died in June 1812. Perhaps Hendrickie Van Buren Pruyn was already deceased.
