Stefan Bielinski

Elizabeth Van Buren was born in July 1747. She was the daughter of Rensselaerswyck residents Willem and Teuntje Vandenbergh Van Buren. Her father died in 1752 when she was five years old.

In December 1769, she married Gerrit Ryckman at the Albany Dutch church. By 1791, eleven children had been christened in Albany where she was an occasional baptism sponsor.

These Ryckmans raised their large family in a modest house in Albany's first ward. They were Albany mainstays until Gerrit's death in 1791. After that, Elizabeth either lived with her children or as the head of her household at 4 Beaver Street.

Elizabeth Van Buren Ryckman probably died in 1817.
